How to Estimate the Materials for Different Mix Ratios in Concrete

It is very important to estimate the quantity of materials in any construction project. There should be clear and concise knowledge on mix proportions of the concrete to estimate the quantity of materials. This construction article will provide detailed information on how to measure quantities of materials for various mix ratios of concrete.

A concrete mixture ratio concerning 1 part cement, 3 parts sand, and 3 parts aggregate will form a concrete mix of roughly 3000 psi. If the water is mixed with the cement, sand, and stone, it will develop a paste that will be used for tying the materials jointly unless the mix becomes solidified.

The quantities of materials to be calculated for 100 cft concrete (By volume).

Here the mix proportion is set at 1 : 2: 4 (cement:sand:stone =a:b:c)

The process involves estimating of the necessary amount of cement, sand and aggregate (stone) for mixing on site for a specified area of concrete.
