How to make structural analysis of a Statically Determinate Beams

This construction video is presented by Dr. Structure that provides detailed guidelines to make analysis of statically determinate beams.

Definition of statically determinate beam.

When the equations of equilibrium are adequate to define the forces and stresses in a structural beam, it is called determinate structure.

Beam is defined as statically determinate when only equilibrium equations are applied to measure its unknown reactions.

Analysis Of Statically Determinate Beams: A free body diagram of the beam that demonstrates applied loads and unknown reactions, should be produced to make analysis of statically determinate beams.

Once free body diagram is drawn, equilibrium equations are used to obtain unknown reactions. In this video, solutions are given for two examples.

After that, instruction is given for drawing Shear force and Bending moment diagram. Go through the following link to learn how to draw SFD and BMD.
