LTBeam is a useful construction program for structural analysis & steel structure design

CTICM has developed LTBeam 1.0, a useful software that functions with "Lateral Torsional Buckling of Beams" under bending action with regard to their primary axis. This useful construction program was developed based on a research project partly financially backed by the European Community for Steel and Coal (ECSC Project No 7210-PR183 : "Lateral torsional buckling of steel and composite beams" - 1999-2002).

LTBeam can streamline the process for designing Steel Structures. The lateral torsional buckling phenomenon (LTB) develops in case the bending action attains a crucial level. It produces abruptly and concurrently a lateral bending deformation and a longitudinal torsional deformation overn the unrestrained length of beam.

LTBeam works with straight single- or multi-span beams, under simple bending regarding their strong axis, with doubly - or mono-symmetrical cross-sections regarding t this plane of bending.

Lateral restraints against LTB may be discrete or continuous, full or elastic, and may concern the lateral displacement, the torsional rotation, the lateral flexural rotation and the warping. The loading, lateral restraints are used at a distance above or beneath the shear centre of the cross-sections.

LTBeam is specifically created to function with steel beams, but it can also work with others materials provided that exact properties are assigned.
