Detailed Checklist for Concrete Work

Quality control of concrete refers to the analysis of concrete throughout the pre-placement, during placement and post-placement.

Analysis is made on the basis of type of concrete, i.e. PCC or RCC, type of casting elements like RCC slab, columns, footing, beams, walls etc. While analyzing concrete member, keep records of checks, maintain a checklist for keeping record of the placement of concrete as well as quality control measures required at job site.

By keeping the records of checks, the building contractor and engineer find it useful to present and solve any inconsistency. It also offers the evidence of concrete work quantity accomplished by the contractor to avoid any divergence at the time of billing.

The checklist also records the number of cubes procured for the assigned work together with its id in order that once the results for cube test are published, recognition of the structural elements for the assigned cube test results becomes trouble free.

Given below a specimen of concrete placement checklist for RCC and PCC works which should be maintained each time when any concreting work is in progress.

Fill up all the blank space and put remarks if any in remarks column. Date of inspection of pre-concrete, during placement and post-concrete placement should be recorded properly as these steps can't be performed on the same day. The contractor, supervisor and engineer must sign once each inspection is completed.
