Plastic Road is gaining popularity in road construction project

Though Asphalt is considered as a useful construction element in roadwork and construction, but the quality of asphalt becomes progressively worse as it weakens, plunges, cracks, and requires continuous patching.

To resolve the issue, the latest and modern concept is applying plastic in place of asphalt.

The concept for plastic road is gaining popularity among construction professional. Dutch company VolkerWessels introduce the plastic road concept and their plastic solution is developed with 100% recycled materials which convert into prefabricated road parts & can be set up in single pieces.

Plastic Road can minimize the construction time significantly and enhance the duration of conventional roadwork as there is little to no road maintenance, repairs and traffic jamming. Plastic is a very lightweight material and is not affected by corrosion and scorching weather. This construction material is well suited with temperatures as low as -40 degrees celsius and as high as 80 degree Celsius.

With plastic road, a hollow space under the road can be arranged for fundamental roadway amenities like cables, pipes, wirings, rainwater, and other infrastructural requirements. In case of flooding or water preservation, the hollow space can also be utilized for retaining roads dry through well-organized drainage developed into the roadways.

Smart constituents can be incorporated into the prefabrication method of the real road. Constituents like traffic loop sensors, measuring equipment, and connections for light poles can also be arranged with plastic road.
